learn about God & the world
Vista Book Club
A monthly gathering to discuss a book and life. This month they are reading and discussing: The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin
An historical biographical novel about Anne Morrow. Wife of Charles Lindbergh and a skilled aviator and adventurer in her own right. A story of heartbreaks and hardships and the search for love, independence and life's infinite possibilities for change and happiness.
Join the conversation Saturday, April 15 at 10:00 am.
Vista Book Discussion Group
A weekly exploration of a book containing material that should be wrestled with, dissected, and discussed together. Books often focus on theological, social and philosophical ideas about life, faith, justice and service. This spring we are discussing: Patrick Miller and Keith Simon’s book Truth Over Tribe: Pledging Allegiance to the Lamb, not the Donkey or the Elephant. It is an examination of how a polarized society creeps into our congregations in ways that may distract us or (worse yet) divide us as followers of Jesus. Join us for what should be a 5 week reading and discussion of this important issue. Register for a discussion group HERE. Contact our Pastor if you have further questions or would like to host a group.
Going Deeper Bible Study
Join a small group every Monday morning at 10:00 am for a deeper look at the scripture readings from the previous Sunday. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, share your wonderings, and pray together in a small group setting. Contact our Pastor to get the latest details on how this group is gathering.
Around the Table
Join us on Thursday, April 13th for our monthly pot-luck lunch gathering at 11:30. We gather around to eat, share stories, and talk about faith. Each month has a theme for the meal. This month the theme is: Fresh. Easter is a season of new life and fresh starts in many ways. Bring a dish to share that you consider fresh as we talk about the new life Christ gives in every season of life!
